Ron Zacapa 23 Year Rum (750Ml)

Zacapa rum's story began in 1976, when it was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the city of Zacapa's foundation. Zacapa, as it so happens, is also the name of a town in Guatemala. In the Aztec language, it means "on the river of grass." Also called the Zacapa No. 23, the rum itself is aged in a solera‑inspired system called the “Sistema Solera,” where younger rums are progressively blended with older stocks in a series of barrels. What results is a consistent house profile that's also complex and intriguing. 

On the nose, the Zacapa No. 23 is sweet - reminiscent of vanilla, caramel, cacao, and butterscotch. Give it a moment, and you'll also get hints of caramelized roasted brazil nuts and toasted hazelnuts with a distinct sherry note derived from cask aging. The brand describes the taste to be "complex, generous, and full-bodied - starting with a depth of dried fruit and apricot, building to savory oak, nutmeg, leather and tobacco with notes of coffee and vanilla, balanced with a spicy touch of cinnamon and ginger."

It also won first place for four consecutive years at the International Rum Festival, starting from 1998 to 2001. It won Gold for two years at the World Rum Awards, too.
